I know that my mail will come to you as a surprise since you do not know me. Please,am very sorry if I disturb your privacy. It is my pleasure to contact you for a business venture which I intend to establish in your country.
The reason why I have contacted you this way is because of the urgent need and pressure which I am now facing to find some one to help me.My Late father (Adou Ismael) who was the former Minister of Economy and Finance of Laurent Gbagbo and died on January 11, 2012, but before his death, he deposited a huge amount of Eight million Six Hundred Thousand Euro, (€8.6Million) in one of the leading bank here in Abidjan cote d'Ivoire.Urgently am looking for your help to guide me on how this money will be transferred abroad so that I can move out of here to continue my education in your country while you take charge of the investment with the money.
I am humbly seeking your godly assistance in the following ways; To provide a bank account into which this money would be transferred and to serve as a guardian of this money since am an Orphans and still very young. If you can be of an assistance to me,I will be pleased to offer to you 30% Of the total money. Please I am waiting for your response urgently so that I can discuss more with you.

Dear Ms. Nina Ismael,
I was very surprised and delighted to find your email today. It appears that we can both benefit from this great opportunity. Since you’ve already told me a little bit about yourself, I may as well let you know what my life is all about. My name is Matt Foley, I am thrice divorced and live in close proximity to the most highly polluted river on the eastern seaboard (although some argue that norfolk has more gross tonnage). Since I’ve spent the last several years bouncing between dead-end jobs and living off a steady diet of government cheese, you can imagine my delight in suddenly finding myself mere moments away from being a millionaire! Even though your offer of 30% is generous, I’m inclined to throw a counter offer your way. Since it appears that the risk is all in my court, I suggest that we go in as equal partners (50/50) , which should be enough to leave us both with enough money to buy fine french cheeses for the rest of our lives. Say goodbye to government cheese!
I am quite interested to hear further details just so I can be sure that there is the risk involved is minimal.
After I know a little bit about you and that I can trust you, I’d be delighted to get the ball rolling on this project.
Your friend,
Matthew Foley

I am including some of my personal photos in this mail, I am sending this identification for you to have confidence that you are dealing with genuine person, and I would be glad to know you as well. I hope am not requesting much.

Madam Nina,
I too am glad that you have approached me with this gracious offer. Our business together will benefit both of us; I am looking forward to working with you as equal partners in this lucrative transaction. You mentioned that you included a photo of yourself, but the only attachments in the email were a “deposit slip” and a “fund origin.” I understand that you are very excited to get down to brass tacks, but you can’t just start making claims and then not back them up with the goods! What if I were to provide my information to you, and then instead of a photo of myself, I included an Excel spreadsheet with the 2012 stats of the Boston Red Sox? What then? We get nowhere. If you want to get down to business, you’re going to have to deliver on your promise. Until such a time, I simply cannot trust you enough to give you my contact information. And believe me, you’re going to want that contact information.

Sir Matt Foley

Please you go ahead and send to me your contact information's so that I can procees in telling you the next level of this transaction. Thank God you receive the fund Deposit Certificate and Fund Origin please keep them safely. Check the attachment for the Pictures.
Thak you very much for your understanding.

I'll spare you these pictures, because they are repulsively awkward. But I WILL describe them. The first is an early-20-something girl posing next to a Christmas tree. The second is the same girl sitting on a large rock. The final picture is probably the same person making an awkward "seductive" pose while starting to remove her shirt. It was terrifying. I thought this person was supposed to be an orphan?

Dear Nina,
These pictures you have sent me are nothing short of spectacular. It is clear that we can trust each other. As such, I’d like to ask a small favor of you. Today I met with an old friend Dom Perignon for lunch and we toasted to our new found success (I mentioned our upcoming business deal and he was ecstatic for me!). What I am very grieved to report to you is that Dom has a fatal form of Cancer and only likely has several months left on this earth. As you may not know, Dom has been working on a vineyard his whole life and hasn’t had an opportunity to see the world. His dying wish is to buy his own jet to travel the world and see the things he has always been dying to see but hasn’t had the time to do. The only way we can possibly afford to give Dom his dying wish is from the money that we will soon be receiving from this transaction. However, since you and I are also good friends, I am not interested in cheating you out of your fair share of the dough. Nonetheless, I hope you can understand that for us to fulfill this dying man’s wish we will need 70 percent of the profit. This would leave us with .7*8.6 = 6 million euros which is the price of the jet we hope to purchase. Obviously he would prefer his own personal waitress providing fine delicacies on his travels, but I think he’ll settle for just the personal jet. Please find the sympathy in your heart to grant Dom his dying wish.
Thank you and God bless,
Matt Foley

Dear Nina,
I am someone who knows how to have a good time, but never in my life have I joked when it comes to millions of euros and the death of a friend. I understand that you may have never done business in America but we tend to treat the process as a negotiation with both parties collaborating to reach a mutual understanding. It seems that you think that this is a one sided pounding with you swinging the hammer but I don’t think you will find anyone here that is willing to do exactly as you say without giving his or her input. We are dealing with massive amounts of money and it is not as simple a process as you believe. I hope you can see that I am very serious about doing business and treat this money with nothing but the utmost reverence. Even as a child I took the exchange of money extremely earnest. My friend once owed me $5 when I bought him lunch. Each day he did not pay me back, I broke one of his favorite crayons. That is how determined I am about this transaction.
Please advise if we can proceed with a 70/30 distribution. If you continue insinuating that I am being less than 100% serious here, I’ll be taking my business elsewhere.
Thank you,
Sir Matthew

Hello Ms. Nina,
I’m glad you’re getting the ball rolling on this. It shows commitment and passion and I like that.
It appears that this bank is requiring legal documents from us. Well that shouldn’t be a problem. I actually have a lawyer in mind who I often use for drawing up legal documentation for large transfers abroad. He is a mastermind of international accounts, so he’ll be perfect for our little operation. He has already informed me that he is willing to draw up the documents for us free of charge. His name is Chaz Stotland, and he specializes in West African transfers.
I think you’d agree that it would be better to use a trusted lawyer that this random person that for all we know could be a serial killer, hell-bent on stealing all of our money in order to buy twisted new tools for his executions. I’ve copied Chaz to the email list. Ms. Nina, you’re going to just love him. He’ll be able to help us out of our little bind. He enjoys golf and tennis and owns three cars.
Chaz, can you please contact Ms. Nina to get the relevant account information? Many thanks.
Your friend,
Matt Foley
Here we cc our good friend Chaz Stotland (it's just another email address that we have) on the email. We figured we'd turn it back on her and get a third party on OUR court. At this point Ryan actually calls this supposed lawyer, who is currently in cote d'ivoire, saying that we're going to need all of his credentials and that our lawyer, Chaz Stotland, will be getting back to him. If Chaz is even going to consider working with him, he's going to require all of his information. Apparently Ryan kept saying "we" over the phone, and when the guy questioned this usage of "we," Ryan's response was that he was using the "royal we" because he thinks very highly of himself.

Please send the following:
a. A description of the school you attended. For example, where it ranks
amongst law schools in your region. Please provide a description of the

If the school has a website, I'd also like a link to that.
b. A summary of your grades in law school (academic transcript). What

Dear Madam Nina,
Please be advised that Mr. Stotland and I are currently attempting to verify Sir Anthony’s credentials. As Mr. Stotland is a trusted lawyer, it is important that we know Sir Anthony’s intentions and that he is not ripping us off. You said yourself that you had never met him before and assumed that he could help us, whereas I’ve known Mr. Stotland for most of my adult life. He is absolutely trustworthy, which is more than I can say for this “so called” lawyer that you found on the streets. Before we send payment (which I fully intend to do), it is important that we check out Sir Anthony to avoid a swindling of Grand Proportions. In fact there are whisperings that this “Sir Anthony” isn’t actually a knight at all, and that he murders his unsuspecting clients. We don’t want a situation like that to pan out. As Mr. Stotland is a well-respected lawyer, one of the best in the country, he’s doing us a great service of checking out this potential madman. If he checks out, we can proceed with the payment. I’m sure you’d agree that this is the best course of action instead of getting stabbed in our sleep. If it doesn't work out and it turns out that Sir Anthony is indeed a psychotic murderer, I'm sure Mr. Stotland will be able to draw up the necessary documents for us. Don't be worried, we'll get that payment in full.

At this point, "Nina" is going absolutely bananas trying to make sure we get rid of Chaz Stotland. We now have two fake lawyers trying to check each others' credentials.

Dear Sir Anthony,
I am still waiting for
a. The name / description of your law school
b. Summary of your grades
c. an essay describing why you are the best person to work on this case.
As i said yesterday, I will be meeting my client
tommorow morning and I will advise him tommorow if we should continue
with you as our legal representative in Cote D'ivoire. If you don't
submit the documents you will disqualify yourself from consideration.
You seem to be excited for this case so I'd prefer
if you submit the information as requested so that I can approve your

Dear Madam Nina,
I too am more courageous after reading your message. I apologize though, because I never meant for your life to be in danger or to "make [you] cries." Mr. Stotland and I have not made our business public nor have we endangered your life, but you can be sure that your life is in fact in danger. But that is because we've seen the true face of this alleged "lawyer" Barrister Anthony D. Scoburgh.
On several occasions, my esteemed lawyer Mr. Stotland requested some information to verify Sir Anthony's law degree and/or knightship. It was a very simple request, and he was given several days to provide information, but he could never verify that he was actually a lawyer. On the contrary, we discovered that he is actually involved in piracy scams and that he murders people. You would do well to get as far from him as you can and never contact him again for your own safety. I know that you met with this "lawyer" and that he seems trustworthy, but if he can't even say the law school that he went to, how could you possibly trust him? He is not a lawyer at all, and he most likely wears the skin of his victims as masks. Probably.
Mr. Stotland met with me this morning to determine what we should do with this "Sir" Anthony, and we decided that the best course of action is to veto his candidacy as our lawyer because he never got back to us with the requested documents. As Mr. Stotland is a renowned lawyer who I have trusted all my life, I think it is safe to say that he would be a better choice to carry out our transfer paperwork. Perhaps we can set up a conversation so that you can provide Mr. Stotland with the relevant account details so that we can get the ball rolling and put this whole "Mr." Anthony/murdering psychopath situation behind us.
Again, for your safety, please do not meet with this "Anthony" character again because he is most likely planning on eviscerating you.
Your friend,
Sir Matthew Foley

Hello Madam Nina,
It is good that you are excommunicating the potential cannibal "Sir" Anthony. He no doubt would have cut you into pieces. With Mr. Stotland's help (how did you know that he was from Scotland? I didn't even mention that yet! You must have picked up his accent. Very observant.), we will be able to locate a qualified lawyer to help with the transaction so that you can safely come to the United States to pursue your studies.
Mr. Stotland, since you've been so integral in picking out the bad apples, perhaps you can assist Madam Nina in selecting someone who is not a maniacal murderer?
Let's stay in touch on this,

Concerning

address existing one, I called him this evening and he told me that he
has given you people proof as a Lawyer that he didn't know what else did
you people want.
Please i
want you to know that my life is in danger and the more you and your
Lawyer make public news ant on this matter the more you endanger my

Hello Madam Nina,
Please stop calling me Sir Grant. As I've explained before, that is the fake name I gave in my Yahoo account. You can continue to call me Dr. Foley. My associate Mr. Scotland (we've jumped on board with her constantly misspelling his name) is flying out to Cote D'ivoire in order to meet with some potential lawyer associations. After we told him that some of them were charging appointment fees upwards of $120, he lost his mind with fury. That is against the bylaws of the World Lawyer Association. If indeed these are real lawyers, they could lose their licenses for such a crime. Thank god Sir Chaz is on our side, otherwise we would have been naive enough to pay!
If you provide him with the agency that you were speaking to, he'll be able to interview them while he's over there. In the meantime, I'll save some money up so we can pay for any processing fees once we find a lawyer who doesn't charge this fake "appointment fee."
I'll get back to you very soon,

I will send you a copy of my Passport on Friday when I have access to a scanner (I will be out in the river taking samples this evening and tomorrow, so I won't be back in the office until Friday). Sir Chaz called me from the airport and told me that he couldn't upload his information because he won't have internet connection and asked me to send you his picture, since you will probably need it when you meet him at the airport. Please see the attached picture of Sir Chaz so that you can identify him. Let me know once you've met and you're all settled so that I know everything is ok when he arrives in Ghana.
Sincerely Two.
Sir Matthew

I apologize Madam Nina, I sent you a picture of a dog instead of Sir Chaz. Here is what Sir Chaz looks like; hopefully this will help identify him at the airport.
Take care,
Sir Matthew

Hello Ms. Nina,
I haven't heard anything from you or Sir Chaz and he was supposed to arrive yesterday. Did you meet him at the airport? I haven't heard a single thing from him and I'm becoming extremely worried.
Please let me know if you were able to meet with him at the airport.
Sincerely Two.
Sir Matthew
